About me:
Hi I’m a final year Mechanical Engineering student at Monash University Clayton Campus. I’ve been tutoring VCE maths and physics for a little over a year now and really enjoy helping my students ‘see the light’ with their study issues.
Teaching Style:
There are two ways I usually teach; for students who have difficulty in understanding their course material, I usually set problems I think will help them gain understanding in solving the questions set in class, in a logical step-by-step fashion.
For more capable students who don’t require as much guidance, I let them show me the problems they have difficulty with, then break those problems down into easily understandable ‘chunks,’ which hopefully the student can understand and ultimately reapply the same method for similar questions. Students find me easy going, patient, communicative and able to adjust to their pace of learning which is important as everyone learns differently and at different speeds.
Tutoring styles:
I am available for home, online and tutoring at the study center as long as an agreement can be reached with the pupil on dates and times, which I usually work around my own uni timetable and study commitments.
Suburbs:
For home tutoring, I am based in Glen Waverley and can tutor in the following suburbs: Glen Waverley (of course), Mount Waverley, Burwood, Burwood East, Blackburn, Blackburn South, Forrest Hill, Vermont, Vermont South, Nunnawading, Wheelers Hill, Notting Hill and Mulgrave. If you live somewhere outside those suburbs but on the fringes of my tutoring areas then contact me about the possibility of tutoring in your location.
Prices:
Finally my tuition fees are $50 for a one-hour lesson, where you really get value for money and results provided you are committed to working on problem sets in class and any set problems I may give you for homework.
In advance I look forward to helping you with your study goals in 2011!
