Background

I am offering to aid students in their preparation for the UMAT, a subject that I thought could not be taught until two years ago, when a student first asked for a session!
I believe that sessions both one-on-one and group have been quite successful in terms of improving student performance in terms of accuracy and, more significantly, speed.

Currently I also tutor Biology and Chemistry Units 3 and 4, though at the moment I am fully booked out for these subjects!

I was a member of the Biology Olympiad Team in Canberra(amongst the top 10 in Australia), so it is fair to say that Biology is a strength. I have successfully coached four students prior to their MacRob/Melbourne High entrance exam. Having been a conscientious student not so long ago and a tutor privately and with an organisation I have accumulated valuable resources which I would be more than delighted to utilise with students.

I believe that you will find me an enthusiastic, intelligent and friendly individual with more than sufficient ability for your purposes. I am eager for any teaching opportunities in addition to medicine as it is something that I do find both satisfying and enjoyable.

Experience
I have previously been employed by 2Hands Tutoring (‘09) and Academy Plus (‘10) and am therefore very capable of teaching classes of up to 15 students though I prefer the one-to-one approach as there is more time to cater for the individual student.

I have been coaching students individually since I myself was in year 10 (total years of experience now adding up to 6!), this was the first time a family friend asked me to help their daughter gain entry to MacRob.

I have in the past and in the present tutor students individually in:

Math – years 6, 8, 9 and 11 and 12(Mathematical Methods 1,2,3,4)
English – year 8 (in preparation for the MacRob entrance exam)
Biology -year 11/12(Units 1,2,3,4)
Chemistry-year 11/12 (Units 1,2,3,4)
UMAT- classes for Academy Plus and one-on-one

Qualifications
I completed my Year 12 at The Mac.Roberston Girls’ High School in 2007 and passed through with an ENTER of 99.75. The following are my study scores(raw)

My UMAT was at the 98th percentile.
I am currently undertaking my fourth year of Medicine at Monash University.

Experience Tutoring for 6 years

Rates

$40 for younger year levels
$45 for VCE subjects if you come to my home (may be made $40 depending on student’s financial circumstances)
$50 for UMAT

$5 extra if going to a home within a 5km radius
