About Me: My name is Rosanna and I enjoy reading, surfing the net, watching documentaries and playing chess. I currently work part time/ casual as a Notetaker for Chisholm TAFE. Now, I can imagine you ask: “What is a ‘Notetaker’?” Well, a Notetaker’s role is to sit in lectures and scribe for a student who is unable to do so for them selves due to health reasons. There, now you know. :)
Past Experience: I have being tutoring since 1998 for a number of agencies. The reason why I have been tutoring for so long is not only do I enjoy it, but I also get good results from my students.
What I teach: My specialty is VCE English and Literature I also teach Italian.
Teaching style: I’m happy to tutor students either at home, centre or via internet (i.e. on line).
My approach to teaching often involves engaging the student’s verbal input as much as possible so as to get a feel of their understanding of the topic in question. Another reason for doing this is also to prompt their memory and allowing them a chance to enhance their expression, in the hope that this will transfer to their work. Apart from this, I generally like my students to practice in my presence, so as to monitor their progress (e.g. do a quick trial run of an essay).
Availabilities for 2011: Currently, I’m available in the afternoons (preferably after 5 pm). Monday to Friday.
Tutoring Location: I’m prepared to travel to students residing in the following areas: Hallam, Narre Warren, Endeavour Hills, Hampton Park, Doveton, Dandenong, Keysborough and Noble Park.
Tutoring Fee: $ 45.00 per hour.
