CAREER SUMMARY

I began tutoring primary and secondary students in both mainstream and ESL English whilst completing a Bachelor of Arts/Science at Deakin University in Melbourne. I soon travelled to Tokyo, Japan and was employed as an English language teacher at GEOS International School and also taught Secondary level English during my time in Tokyo. Upon my return to Melbourne, I taught ELICOS (English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) on a casual basis, whilst completing my last semester of a Bachelor of Education at Deakin University and a Graduate Diploma of Child Psychotherapy Studies at Monash University. I then began working casually as an ELICOS teacher and Diploma lecturer/tutor for international students, whilst also continuing to tutor in English/ESL on a private basis. As a tutor I have worked predominantly with Year 11 and 12 students in preparation for VCE English assessments and exams. My roles have included: English Tutor/Teacher, Diploma English tutor/lecturer, English/ESL Course Coordinator and Manager of English programs for International students.

HOME TUITION (1996 – present)

I have coached students on a private basis in English/ESL which involves working closely with both parents and students to ensure ongoing progress.
